Maritime festival event

Illustration for the Maritime Festival event, by Elsa Serka
A celebration of sailing ships and all things related to the sea, this event boost the morale of shipyard workers and you have the option to spend some cash to participate and get a booth (increases city approval, +1 yardie) or take the whole team on a day cruise on tallships (large morale boost).
Cat. 5 storm - sketches

Winds blowing, ominous weather, personified storm, strong diagonal lines.

Panic, running away, cargo failing off ships, cargo scattered on dock, rain and spilled sea water
Mostrovska is working on event illustrations, starting with storms. Check out more of their portfolio on Tumblr
Power outage event

Power outage event, where all buildings stop unless you have batteries or a backup generator with enough fuel.
We’re going for a stylized look, almost like a digital linocut style to represent each idea.
Updates on expeditions
And here are some updates outside of event illustrations:

Style test for expedition maps, by Vaerlyi.
We’re thinking of using the clouds on separate pngs as a way to hide and reveal areas that you haven’t explored yet.
These longer expeditions can have 3-4 nodes, similar to expeditions in FrostPunk.
Maybe the first time you go with a fast and cheap ship just to scout things, and you later come back with the right equipment to deliver help or gather scientific data.
For example the multi-part expedition “the island shrouded in mist” starts when the player first encounters a “GPS malfunction” event, where satellites have collided, drifted, or take a solar storm, and ships have to navigate solely with maps again for the first time in decades.
The player ends up finding an island shrouded in mist and has no coordinates to check if it’s on any map.
The player ends up in this location randomly after GPS malfunction events, and perhaps there’s some mystery to be solved behind the layers of clouds.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more events and expedition maps art.
As always, thanks you!
